Mission 1 : The Global South

Objective 1: Learn 

By these pictures I have taken and edited, I illustrated how large the gap of the Global North countries to the Global South.

 As I see, the Global North is like a D size battery compared to the Global South who represents a triple A battery, which can only supply power to things like the remote control, while a D size battery which can supply power to bigger and more useful things like the radio. The powers of the Global North and the Global South differ immensely. It shows how the power of the Global North increases its influence to the other countries.

 The second picture, on the other hand illustrates how huge the Global North is compared to the tiny Global South. It illustrates the capability of the Global North to bully and manipulate the Global South because of the large disparity of the two.

Moreover, the third picture illustrates the dependence and difference of the Global South to the Global North. In this picture, the Global North represents the touch screen phone while the Global South represents the older phone. It shows how advance the Global North, compared to the dependent Global South not only in terms of technology but also in other aspects.

This picture shows a kid and an adult. Obviously, the kid represents the Global South, while the adult represents the Global North. The Global South is like a kid who still needs to learn and experience a lot of things to become successful in life. Unlike an adult, who has already a lot of experience and knowledge that helps him or her choose the right decisions and helps him or her think deeper.

Lastly, the Global North is like a big clip compared to a small clip that represents the Global South. In this last picture, the large sphere of influence of the Global North is illustrated. Like a big clip that can snip larger or thicker papers, the Global North’s influence can do the same compared to the smaller clip of the Global South, regardless of their larger number.

               Indeed, the gap between the Global North and the Global South is really huge but by accepting each other’s differences and through helping each other, this gap could be narrowed. The countries of the Global North and the Global South just need to cooperate and work for the benefit of both sides.
